Some of my favorite projects are devoted to trivia, curiosities, and my personal basketball obsessions. One topic that I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about is the NBA mustache.

This is the tangled web of teammates with whom Jim Barnett — Warriors broadcaster and former NBA journeyman — played during his career.

I wrote a love letter to the NBA’s greatest mustaches. It was organized in dog-show format with groups for style, masculinity, camaraderie, dreaminess, empowerment, humor, authority, and exuberance,  plus the catch-all non-sporting group. John Lucas won the title of Best in Show for his powerful push-broom.
